Our Coaches

CrossFit 215 has a dedicated staff determined to help our athletes reach beyond their goals and expectations. Our coaches are trained professionals who uphold the standards of practice set forth by the greater CrossFit community. We are CrossFit, CrossFit Football, and CrossFit Endurance affiliated. As a result, our training and programming will reflect the approaches of all three of these practices. CrossFit 215 does however take a more focused approach on strength development as we believe it is imperative to build strength to enhance the metabolic conditioning and endurance training in all of our athletes .

Micah Macbeth – Owner / Head Coach

Micah was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania  and grew up in the neighboring suburbs. After spending seven years in Boston, Massachusetts during college and the years following, he moved back to his hometown and currently resides in Manayunk. A three sport athlete in high school, Micah spent many hours devoted to baseball, soccer, and wrestling. His passion for wrestling continued throughout college where he wrestled competitively for the NEU intramural team. Through his participation as an athlete, Micah soon discovered his love for coaching. He began coaching a youth baseball team as well as a high school wrestling team in Boston.

Micah discovered CrossFit while noticing a friend’s Facebook page and was immediately intrigued. He experimented with CrossFit training for a few weeks and soon realized this was something he wanted to pursue further. At the same time he was considering entering the military as he was searching for more meaning in his life.  His passion for helping others ultimately inspired him to pursue CrossFit as a career.

CrossFit215 opened its doors in October, 2009 where Micah continues to help others realize and establish their potential as athletes. Some of the greatest moments in his athletic career include completing a half marathon and achieving coaching milestones. Micah continues his journey to help transform individuals from all backgrounds into elite athletes and competitors.  Through his own experiences, Micah believes, “CrossFit elicits an intensity in me that has spilled out into all other facets of my life. With my progression in CrossFit, so has a progression in my quality of life ensued.”

Kyle George – Coach

Kyle grew up in the Poconos and now resides in Roxborough, Pennsylvania. He began his athletic career in high school, competing in wrestling and cross country. An avid whitewater kayaking expert, Kyle developed his skills on the water by instructing classes throughout college. He continued to experiment with adventure sports such as mountain biking, rock climbing, skiing, snowboarding and adventure racing before discovering CrossFit through a friend in the military. In an effort to prepare for adventure races, Kyle used CrossFit as a training tool during a time when he considered himself grossly out of shape. He continues to rave about its effectiveness: “CrossFit put me in the shape I always dreamed about being in. It also gave me an outlet to channel my frustrations in life.”

Kyle began coaching at CrossFit215 in November 2010. He continues to serve the athletes of the community and lead by example day in and day out. His athletic achievements include a top 15 finish at Beast of the East 2011, 325 unbroken double unders, and completing a half marathon in 1:22:22. During a time he was practicing Jui Jitsu, a friend introduced him to CrossFit where he visited a box in 2009 and soon discovered the passion for fitness he was looking for.

Carlos started coaching at CrossFit215 in June 2011 and quickly learned that teaching proper technique to others has translated into improving his own skills as a coach and athlete.  He looks forward to sharing his knowledge and experience with the athletes of CrossFit215 while continuing his own quest for elite fitness and overall wellness. But by the fall of 2009, Kevin had gotten tired of the usual routine and was looking for a new & different way to work out. After learning that actors in the movie 300 used CrossFit to train, he decided to try the workouts himself.
